According to the artist and recorded on an original label affixed to the reverse, "the scene is both biotic and linear: nature's mass, backdrop to engineered rigidities - - - drama that suggested this painting's intaglio technique. Into the dot, blob, pock, whorl, wave, maze and friz of the 'landscape,' the structural lines were furrowed."
