Folio (408 x 280mm.), engraved allegorical title with manuscript lettering panel, 91 engraved maps (73 double page) by or after Mercator, Ortelius, Hondius, Janssonius and others, including a world map by Ortelius, 3 maps coloured, most maps cut to neatline or backed on paper, contemporary pigskin over boards, marked G.M.F. to spine, later ties; sold not subject to return


An attractive composite atlas compiled in the mid-seventeenth century. The emphasis is on European locations, with a few maps of Asia.
