A collection of 3 large proclamations, one manuscript and the others printed, loose in large black folder, comprising:


Aux habitans du Kaire [a proclamation in Arabic about the establishment of a new diwan (council) with a list of its members and their responsibilities]. Cairo: Imprimerie nationale, [I798], broadside (640 x 465mm), printed in Arabic in 3 columns, one side of the sheet only, and dated 18 Rajab 1213 [26 December 1798] (added in manuscript) 8 Nivose an VII [28 December 1798]


2a. Letter addressed by members of the diwan of Cairo to General Bonaparte. [Cairo, 1800], broadside (750 x 530mm), manuscript in Arabic, written on one half of the sheet, in black ink in a handsome naskhi script, in one column, dated 24 Jamad al-thany 1215 [12 November 1800], and signed with the names of the members of the diwan, with their stamps, signed at foot “certifié véritable, le général en chef de l’armée de l’orient Abd. J. Menou”, and with his oval stamp, and with a part translation of the text into French written on the verso, also signed by Menou, and with his stamp, some repair to paper at folds, and with a hole causing loss of some words of text of the French manuscript
