Both canvases are original and are attached to keyed wooden stretchers which provide stable support.
The painting surface is stable.
Inspection under ultra-violet light reveals a thick layer of residual varnish on both canvases, which makes the surface difficult to read. However, with the exception of some small spots of isolated retouching, both works appear to be in good condition and are ready to hang.
Both presented in decorative gilt frames, one with some losses.

The Rüstem Pasha mosque in Istanbul was designed by Sinan, master architect to Sultan Süleyman the Magnificent (1520-66). The mosque’s most striking feature is its extensive Iznik tiles, the focus of Leroy's paintings. The tiles adorn the walls, piers, mihrab (sacred niche), and minbar (pulpit) of the mosque's interior, in a dizzying pattern of stylised and more relaxed free-flowing floral and foliate designs.
