circa 1st Century A.D.
with long beard of overlapping curls, the eyes recessed for inlay, his wavy hair arranged in three rows of spirals curls above the forehead, bound in a fillet, and falling in long strands behind the ears; no restorations.
Height 18 cm.
As shown. Note damage to moustache, nose, and brows. Surface somewahat worn and dirty form handling. Deep 1.5 in.-long vertical groove across flat back spanned by iron clamp, possibly for suspension/hanging. Mounted on onyx base.
