A Vienna (Du Paquier) teapot
Circa 1730
after a Meissen form, the bullet-shaped body moulded with a gapping mask below a curved spout, painted with cut sprigs of flowers, the handle with trailing flowers in iron-red and green, extensively inscribed to the underside probably at a later date

This form of teapot was popular in the early production at Meissen and variations were made in both stoneware and porcelain between about 1710 and 1730. Whilst the form is close to the Meissen original the decoration is absolutely typical of Du Paquier.
