of rectangular form, the slightly domed cover painted and gilt with the coat-of-arms of the von Katte family of Magdeburg, within a border moulded in low relief with scrolls, enriched in a pale palette, the sides painted with vignettes of figures in landscape within similar cartouches, the interior painted with further figures in landscape
