of squat form, supported by three lion-paw feet, with scroll-moulded handle, everted rim and slightly domed cover, painted and lustred with three cartouches of figures among furniture, within gilt scroll and Böttger-lustre panels, the cover with three similar lesser cartouches, gilder's mark 10. to cover and .. to pot,

The cartouches on the present cream pot have, in some cases been freely adapted from related figures in the Schulz-Codex, the figure beside a low table holding a pipe to the front of the cream pot is adapted from sheet 3 and the mother and child with a youth from a scene on sheet 8 (see illustration).
