A large fayence chinoiserie baluster jar and cover

Late 17th century, perhaps Frankfurt or Delft

painted in blue, bright yellow and green and `trekked` in black with a qilin on pierced rockwork issuing flowers below an exotic pheasant, between bands of meandering flowers, lappet and scroll ornament, the cover with similar patterned bands, traces of iron-red cold decoration
