oval, the lid inset with a Hanau enamel plaque painted with Saint Paul and Saint Barnabas refusing divine honours in Lystra, circa 1785, the ground of translucent plum-coloured enamel over wavy engine-turning within white bead and multicoloured translucent enamel borders on a sablé ground, French prestige marks, including maker’s mark of Rene-Antoine Bailleul, charge and discharge marks of Jean-Baptiste Fouache and date letter P for 1778, the left rim numbered: 1127
