5¾-inchy enamel dial with decorative gilt and enamel outer date track, signed L F Godon, Reloxo. de Camara di S.M.C., centre seconds, further signed below VI Dubuisson, the movement with dead beat escapement with adjustable pallets and beat adjustment on the crutch, later Brocot suspension, outside count wheel striking on a bell, the drum surmounted by Venus in her chariot drawn by a pair of doves amidst flower-strewn billowing clouds, Cupid kissing her left hand, the break-front plinth inset with a finely cast and chased foliate panel, on knurled feet
