Ilka Chase (1905-1978), an American actress, radio host, and novelist, was the daughter of Francis Dane Chase and Edna Woolman Chase, editor-in-chief of Vogue. Chase was known for her critical wit and took gratuitous shots at her fellow socialites, actors, and writers in her best-selling memoir, Past Imperfect, published in 1942. It eventually led to her hosting the radio program, "Luncheon at the Waldorf".
Paul Flato was a celebrity jeweler known for his flamboyant designs and Art Deco jewelry. He had shops on 5th Avenue in New York City and on Sunset Boulevard in Beverly Hills and employed David Webb and Verdura before they founded their own eponymous brands.
