decorated by Alboin Birks, signed in white slip with either ABirks or AB monogram, with three large panels depicting classical maidens looking over cupids either escaping from a cage, lighting torches from a tree, or circling above a beehive, within raised gilt-beaded borders, alternating with smaller rectangular panels of stylized foliate motifs within raised gilt scroll borders, gilt-edged rims and footrims, gilt crowned MINTONS globe marks, retailer's mark for Tiffany & Co, New York, impressed MINTONS marks, impressed date cyphers for 1924-26, gilt H.3696
