Original canvas. There is a small wax repair on the reverse. The stretcher has warped slightly and the canvas is buckling slightly in the corners. There are pin holes along the top edge, and faint stretcher bar marks along all edges. There is a tiny hole and small scratch to the sky close to the centre of the top edge. A small area of retouching in the lower right quadrant corresponding to the aforementioned repair is visible to the naked eye. There is fine craquelure in places and minor abrasions along the edges. There is a light layer of surface dirt with some spots of dirt and the odd tiny drip of gold paint in places. Inspection under UV light confirms the presence of the small area of retouching mentioned above. Framed.
