This early print on paper with a slight surface sheen and an eggshell texture, is in generally excellent condition. The tonality is somewhat warmer. The following are visible in raking light: a few deposits of original retouching; some faint silvering; faint handling creases that do not appear to break the emulsion, and an area of faint yellow-orange discoloration in the upper right quadrant.
'Margaret Bourke-White'; 'pg 50'; '1946 [circled]'; and '161 SNG' are written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse. There is some soiling and numerous adhesive remnants along the edges of the reverse of the mount.
