FRANCESCO CURRADI

Florence 1570 - 1661

PORTRAIT OF A YOUNG MAN, POSSIBLY AN ARCHITECT, HALF LENGTH, WEARING A RED HAT AND ROBE

oil on canvas

canvas: 34 by 27½ in.; 86.4 by 69.8 cm.

framed: 41 by 34 in.; 104.1 by 86.4 cm.

It is likely that this painting dates to the first decade of the 17th century, when Curradi, who predominantly painted religious subjects, also completed a few portraits. We are grateful to Professor Francesca Baldassari for endorsing the attribution to Francesco Curradi on the basis of photographs.
