This work bears many similarities to Caravaggio's depiction of the Baptist, in the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City (inv. no. 52-25).1 An attribution to Luigi Amidani has been proposed by Professors Emilio Negro and Nicosetta Roio.
