The canvas appears original. There is some minor historic frame rubbing to the extreme edges. There are very fine lines of craquelure towards the edges of the work, in association with the stretcher bar marks, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There is a further, more minor instance to the upper right of the tree, with one or two further more minor instances elsewhere. There are two or three rubs to the upper portion of the work. There is a light layer of surface dust to the work, with instances of studio detritus and accretions. This excepting, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.
Inspection under Ultraviolet light appears to reveal some fluorescence and retouching to the tree and the window frame in the centre. There appears to be another small area of retouching to the centre left framing edge. There is a heavy and opaque layer of surface varnish which obscures more accurate reading.
The work is presented in a gilt wooden frame.
