The canvas appears original. There are two or three instances of very fine lines of craquelure including towards the centre of the right edge and in the upper left quadrant in the black pigment with one or two further more minor instances elsewhere. There is some light rubbing and abrasion to the framing edges. Some light surface dirt and specks of matter and studio detritus in places. There is a small pin hole in the lower left hand corner. This excepting, the work appears to be in very good overall condition.

Inspection under Ultraviolet light reveals a few minor specks of retouching in the lower right hand corner and a few very minor touches to the framing edges. There is an uneven surface varnish.

The work is held in a black ebonized box frame, with canvas slip, held under glass.
