Jacob Fogle is previously unlisted as a watchmaker, however, he did place advertisements in the Federal Union Newspaper, Georgia, USA during the 1830s until the 1860s where he advertised, 'a new supply of watches, silver spoons, beed bags.....sword and plain canes, belt and pocket pistols.....and has constantly on hand a general assortment of articles in his line of business....Special attention will be given to watch repairing also to engraving court and notarial seals...Orders for Pianos will also be attended on moderate terms'

Interestingly and most notably, Milledgeville was the capital of Georgia from 1804 to 1868, during the American Civil War.
