Rolex launched the reference 16710 in 1989, superseding the 16760 with a slimmer case profile. The watch was delivered with one of the three available bezels: plain black, red and blue known as the "Pepsi", or black and red known as the "Coke". The reference received various upgrades during its almost twenty-year run, including a new calibre as well as the transition from Tritium to Luminova and subsequently SuperLuminova.
