Greubel Forsey stunned the world of watchmaking when they first unleashed the GMT Earth. They devised a truly unique way to display the world and its time and have placed a three dimensional globe that literally rotates accordingly and displays true world time. Like all Gruebel Forsey wristwatches, their technical expertise is second to none.
This worldtime, dual time tourbillon with power reserve is very advanced that its owner is always discovering its many horological complications. The time and seconds dominate the upper part of the dial, where the 72 hour retrograde power reserve sits beautifully at 2 o'clock. The tourbillon mechanism is no longer a tourbillon as the escapement is inclined at 25° and the carriage itself rotates completely at an incredible 24 seconds.
The worldtime with three dimensional globe can be seen in the left part of the dial and through the viewer at the side of the case. The globe is furthermore surrounded by 24 hours and the GMT is displayed at 10 o'clock and is adjusted by a pusher in the band. If this was not enough, the movement features a further worldtime display illustrating the world time of 24 different cities on the case back.
Sotheby's is honoured to work in cooperation with Greubel Forsey, providing the new owner with a complete and complimentary service of the watch from an official Greubel Forsey retailer. This includes the update of the owners book and renewal of the two year owners warranty. In addition the leather strap may be replaced and fitted for their usage.
