GOLD, ENAMEL AND GEM-SET BRACELET


Designed as a series of gold scroll-shaped links, applied with polychrome enamel, centered on molded gold and enameled faces, alternating with floral motifs set with antique-cut rubies, sapphires and an emerald, the reverse of the links with detailed engraving work, length 7 inches, with French import mark; circa 1880. With fitted Wartski box.

In very good condition given the age of this piece, with minor areas of discoloration to the gold predominantly on the reverse side. Gold tests as 18 karat. The polychrome enamel in very good condition, with only small areas of loss visible under close inspection, predominantly to the tip of the nose of 4 of the 5 figures. The shading and fine detail of the enamel on the faces is notable. The colored stones are in good condition. The sapphires are medium blue, eye clean, one with a small chip to the crown. The rubies are medium strongly purplish red, slightly included, one with a surface reaching feather. The emerald is medium very slightly bluish green, slightly included. Width approximately ¾ inch.
