Overall in excellent condition. The andirons feature masterfully incised decorations which complement their elegant form. The iron surfaces throughout both andirons display beautifully variegated tones of black and silvery grey with some warmer tones throughout as well. The iron surfaces are incredibly rich and tactile with irregularities inherent to production which underscore the handmade quality of the work. The iron with some occasional extremely minor surface scratches and abrasions consistent with age and gentle handling. A striking pair of andirons which display strong sculptural presence when viewed firsthand.
