of baluster form, rising from a flared base to a broad shouldered body, waisted neck and a slightly lipped rim, painted in bright enamels with Chang'e and attendants in a moon pavilion, gazing out at male courtiers greeting her in a cluster of swirling clouds, inscribed with a couplet excerpt from a Song dynasty poem, with a cover painted with frolicking boys (2)
Height 14½ in., 37 cm
With an approx. 9.5cm long hairline crack extending down from the mouth, and with fritting along the edge of the cover. With expected surface wear and firing imperfections.
