AN AMETHYST 'SANDUO' VASE

QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

清十九世紀 紫晶雕三多紋瓶


carved as a tree trunk-form vase surrounded by elaborate designs in openwork and high relief, the lavender-hued side of the stone a gnarled tree issuing pomegranates, peaches, and 'Buddha hand' citrons, the reverse of clear quartz with lingzhi and a long-tailed bird perched on rockwork, wood stand inlaid with gold and silver wire (2)
