A RARE BRONZE HANDLED VASE

17TH / 18TH CENTURY

十七 / 十八世紀 銅鋪首耳壺


of archaistic form, well cast with the oval body rising from a splayed foot to a waisted neck and a galleried rim, set at the shoulder with a pair of beast-mask handles, the base cast with an inscription extracted from the famous dedication found on the Duke Xuan of Zhu’s bell, the patina of an attractive warm chocolate-brown color
