A MASSIVE 'HUANGHUALI'-VENEERED SQUARE-CORNER COMPOUND CABINET

QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY

清十九世紀 黃花梨單板方角四件櫃


of rectangular form, comprising a smaller top cabinet resting on a larger bottom one, both of standard miter, mortise, tenon, tongue-and-grooved flush floating-panel construction with four square uprights comprising the frame and the multi-panel doors centered by removable stiles, the side panels on both the top and bottom cabinets similarly constructed, below the doors of the main cabinet a decoratively-carved shaped apron, the interior of the top cabinet with one removable shelf, the bottom with two shelves and two short drawers, the baitong circular hinges and escutcheon plates surface-mounted, the shelves, drawer interiors, back and top panels soft wood (2)
