of circular section tapering slightly toward the base, the bright cinnabar lacquer on the exterior carved in high relief with a scholar sitting in the window of a studio accompanied by an attendant carrying books, the scholar's attention fixed on the idyllic landscape of mountains, rivers, and lush vegetation, two boys approaching on a path, one on foot and the other riding a water buffalo and playing the flute, followed by an attendant carrying a water bucket and another with a hoe, the surrounding land, water, and sky textured with finely patterned grounds, the interior and base lacquered black
