Tornabuoni Art, Paris

Born in Bologna in 1980, Francesca Pasquali is marked by the

theories of informal art taught to her by her professors at the

Academy of Fine Arts as well as by those of Arte Povera and

the poetics of the object. Joyfully drawing from her daily life

simple materials that she diverts from their original function

through her plastic peregrinations, the artist invites us to

question the codification of the image and the innumerable

possibilities of art.

Starting from the observation of nature, the artistic discourse

developed by Francesca Pasquali often refers to the materials

she chooses to use to create complex and elaborate works

that appear organic. The Straws series, to which Yellow Straws

is related, is thus executed from myriads of straws cut at

different heights and assembled to create an impression of

upward and downward movement that seems as natural as it

is artificial.
