Designed as a rectangular cage, gross weight approximately 393 dwts, dimensions approximately 7½ x 4½ inches, signed Anndra Neen.

The present piece was conceived by Anndra Neen, the designer-artist duo of Annette and Phoebe Stephens, taking inspiration from a birdcage built by their father, Mexican sculptor Luis Stephens. Their vision was to translate their father’s work into an everyday object, merging art with fashion. The piece’s open framework invites one to look inside, acting in playful opposition to its function as an evening bag. It contains but does not conceal. The work debuted at the Ultimate Gold Collection Fashion Show to benefit amfAR, an event curated by Carine Roitfeld, at the 2013 Cannes Film Festival
