4to (10 x 7 1/2 in.; 254 x 191 mm). Half title, engraved headpiece vignette, 16 engraved folding plates, privilege leaf at rear. Contemporary mottled calf, spine with raised bands in six compartments, morocco lettering piece in second, marbled endpapers.

In this treatise, among the final works published in his lifetime, Duhamel focusses on tree farming, landscaping, forestry and grafting. First published in 1760, this second edition is not recorded by the usual bibliographies on the subject. The final section includes additions to his "Traite des Arbres."
