One of 275 numbered copies, complete with the signed frontispiece etching by Benson
The first volume of the Benson catalogue raisonne. The frontispiece, titled "Pair of Ducks," is described as item 102 in the catalogue: "After two impressions, the plate was steel-faced and the necessary two hundred and seventy-five proofs were printed on Shogun paper and bound into the copies of the book." After printing the plate was destroyed. The complete catalogue of Benson's engraved works would be published in five volumes, in a variety of limitations, between 1917 and 1959.
