Watering the Horses
signed and dated F. A. Bridgman / 1921 lower right
oil on canvas
Unframed: 63 by 91cm., 24¾ by 35¾in.
Framed: 93 by 121.5cm., 36½ by 47¾in.
The canvas is unlined. There are some minor, localised fine lines of craquelure visible only under close inspection and a small spot of paint flaking in the back of the bay horse. Ultra-violet light reveals a minor c. 1 by 2cm repair in the water (patched on the reverse) and no other notable signs of retouching. This painting is otherwise in good condition.
