24 in. (61 cm) high

18 in. (45.7 cm) diameter of shade

Overall in very good condition. The “Tyler Scroll” shade and rare blown glass base combine to make an incredibly dynamic and impressive unit, with harmonious colors and decorative scroll motifs. The shade presents with a bright green hue when viewed firsthand, which offsets the rich amber color of the scroll band. The shade with approximately 5 hairline cracks dispersed throughout, stable. The shade with some light traces of surface soiling concentrated to the contours adjacent to the leadlines. The blown glass base is in very good condition and presents with a vibrant apple-green tone when viewed firsthand. The upper portion of the blown glass displays a slightly more blue shade of green. The glass with scattered minor air bubbles, particulate inclusions and surface irregularities inherent in the making and not visually distracting, including a small blue horizontal inclusion measuring approximately 1 inch wide adjacent to one of the wide bronze straps. The glass with some scattered surface scratches consistent with age and handling. The bronze surfaces with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions and light wear consistent with age and use. The ball feet with some minor breaks to the leading which would benefit from stabilization. The base with some surface soiling concentrated to the recessed areas near the twisted wire decorations. With period sockets and paddle switches. This lot is offered with a period Tiffany finial that is associated and is larger than the shade aperture (the finial is not illustrated in the catalogue photographs). The finial is in very good condition with light wear and some painted enhancement to the patina surrounding the knop. An elaborate and rare work with impressive sculptural presence.
