Description

His Majesty's Stationary Office

"Let Us Go Forward Together," vintage British World War Two propaganda poster. London: H. M. Stationery Office, printed by J. Weiner Ltd., ca. 1941

Single sheet of newsprint stock (30 x 20 1/4 in.; 762 x 514 mm, framed to 36 1/2 x 26 1/2 in.; 927 x 673 mm) printed in color; a few short tears, not impacting image.

AN EXTRAORDINARY VARIANT OF THIS LEGENDARY, MUCH-REPRODUCED, WARTIME BRITISH PROPAGANDA POSTER

The poster features a steadfast Churchill posed against a cloud-filled sky with a phalanx of bombers passing overhead. The historic quotation: "Let Us Go Forward Together," imprinted in white across his chest has here been translated into Arabic as “We Shall Be Victorious". Apparently, these posters were deployed in enlistment offices in Palestine. The size is slightly larger than the English-language originals, but the poster is printed on the same thin newsprint stock.
