LAWRENCE, T.E. (CONTRIBUTOR)
[VICKERY, W.W.], "SIMON JESTY". RIVER NIGER. BORISWOOD, 1935
8vo, 'special colonial edition' (with stamp on title page), prefatory letter by T.E. Lawrence, original yellow cloth, slight foxing, slight creasing to leaves at the end[together with:]
'Ye Drunken Damozel' The Tavern in the Folly. Boriswood, 1932, NO. 2 OF 5 PRESENTATION COPIES (out of a total edition of 20), SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR, printed on handmade mould paper, original quarter black cloth, top edge gilt, others uncut, green boards (2)
Vickery's only two novels. Lawrence's introduction to the first, in the form of a letter, is less than complimentary about the world created by the author and the plot of the novel, but the publisher included it nonetheless.
