A beautiful example of an Agra carpet, with an unusual light teal ground colour, in outstanding condition. The design is derived from the overall arabesque trellis and shrub carpets, exemplified by the Lady Dudley Shrub Carpet, produced in the 'Vase technique' in 17th century Iran. The border similarly takes its inspiration from classical Persian carpets.
