1864 - 1946
flush-mounted, mounted again to a folding card, signed Alfred Stieglitz–, dated 1934 – December, and inscribed For Georgia O'Keeffe on the front of the folding card
gelatin silver print
6 ⅛ by 9 ⅛ inches
(15.6 by 23.2 cm)
Executed in 1933.
This gelatin silver print is in generally excellent condition. When examined in raking light, the lower left portion of the image exhibits an unevenly glossy surface, suggesting the print was varnished or waxed. There are some deposits of original retouching in the lower left quadrant. There is minor chipping to the lower and left edges of the print.
This photograph is flush-mounted to thick card, and mounted again to a sheet of paper folded in half to form a folio. This paper is detaching from the photograph's primary mount.
