'Texture Detail, Old Barn'

gelatin silver print, mounted, signed in pencil on the mount, signed and titled in ink and with a Michael and Jeanne Adams collection stamp on the reverse, framed, 1940, possibly printed in the early 1950s; accompanied by a certificate of provenance, signed by Michael and Jeanne Adams (2)

image: 9 1/2 by 7 1/2 in. (24.1 by 17.8 cm.)

frame: 17 3/4 by 16 3/4 in. (45.1 by 42.5 cm.)

This print, with a slight surface sheen and mounted to slick white board, is in generally excellent condition. Visible under close examination are the following: a deposit of original retouching in the upper left quadrant; 2 scratches in the upper left corner; and silvering along the edges. The mount is just slightly larger than the print, and its corners and edges are worn.

The following are written in an unidentified hand in pencil on the reverse: 'AA/1648' and '#4017.'

When examined under ultraviolet light, this print may fluoresce faintly.
