Overall in very good condition. The piece includes superb abstract compositions and geometric motifs executed with red and black lacquers. The lacquered surfaces present with very fine scattered scratches throughout. The black lacquered rim and metallic surface with occasional and very light areas of discoloration consistent with age and gentle handling. Approximately three black lacquer decorations on the shoulder present with evidence of light and partial inpainting which is not visible unless the piece is inspected under blacklight. The underside of the piece with small dimples to the metal which are not visible unless inspecting the underbase. The metal body presents with very minor color variations partially visible in the catalogue photography and consistent with the natural evolution of the medium. The interior of the vase with light oxidation and soiling throughout. A very attractive vase displaying impressive scale, a strong graphic composition, and a handsome color palette.
