impressed Albert Cheuret
6 1/2 x 17 x 3 1/2 in. (16.5 x 43.1 x 8.8 cm)
Overall in very good condition. This iconic piece with illustrious provenance embodies Cheuret’s modernist interpretation of Art Deco through sleek lines and elegant materials. The patinated bronze surfaces display a deep rich patina of variegated colors ranging from olive green to dark grey when viewed in person. The bronze with very minor surface scratches and scuffing throughout consistent with gentle handling. The edges of the clock occasionally reveal the non-patinated bronze surface of the piece complementing the multi-layered color palette. The onyx is in excellent condition overall. The glass inset on the central panel presents with very slight movement but is overall stable. The underside of the clock includes two pieces of protective felt which are stable. This mantel clock is offered together with a period key which presents with oxidation throughout consistent with age. Functionality of movement is not guaranteed, and it may need service at the buyer's discretion.
