Coupe
circa 1930
partially gilt opaline glass
monogrammed JL
4 1/2 in. (11.4 cm) high
8 5/8 in. (21.9 cm) diameter
Overall in very good condition. The gilding is in overall stable and well-preserved condition throughout and retains its original brightness and complex surface. The gilt surfaces with occasional and very light darkening to areas around the body as well as very light surface scratches. The edges at the rim and base with very minor loss and lifting to the gold leaf, not visually distracting and consistent with gentle handling. The opaline glass surfaces with light surface scratches concentrated to the inside of the coupe and consistent with gentle use. The rim with a stable indentation to the glass measuring approximately 1/8 inch wide and not visually distracting. A very chic and elegant form.
