HARRY KERNOFF, R.H.A.
O'MAHONIES' POINT, KILLARNEY
signed l.r.: KERNOFF; titled, signed and inscribed with the artist's address on the reverse
oil on board
63 by 94cm., 24¾ by 37in.
The board appears sound. There is a vertical hairline crack, approximately eight centimetres long in the lower-left corner, which appears stable. The surface may benefit from a light clean. Otherwise the work appears in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals an opaque varnish which makes the surface difficult to read. There appears to be a small area of retouching in the lower-right corner and possibly along the extreme lower edge. There are possible small areas of retouching around the group of golfers and to the donkey.
Held in a wood frame with a linen inset.
