Condition:

This work is in fair condition.

Front:

There are nails used to mount the two small and two large wood panels together, laid over the two boards on the reverse, in keeping with the artist's choice of support (probably recycled wood/board). There are some scattered surface abrasions across the edges and some further pronounced cuts in the wood across the upper edge. There is some minor paint loss and discolouration to the figures. All surface irregularities are in line with the age of the painting. The painting is slightly dirty and dusty and could benefit from a light clean. There is no restoration apparent when viewed under the UV light.

Reverse:

Some molding appears across the upper edge of the painting. A big whole to the back board of the work can be noticed, this does not impact the work.

The catalogue illustration is very accurate.
