Patek Philippe manufactured the reference 3540 between 1968 and 1983. This extra-thin diamond-set bracelet watch was produced exclusively in white gold and available with two dial variations: the blue diamond-set dial would confer the reference 3540-1 to the watch, while the silvered dial version would bear the reference 3540-2.

One can observe two consecutive series for this model, differentiated by the calibre: the first generation would encase the cal. 175 before Patek started relying on the cal. 177.

The present first series example bears the elegant silvered dial crafted from gold and is powered by the manual winding calibre 175. The impressively flat case was manufactured by Patek Philippe themselves (Geneva Key number 28) and showcases a luxurious baguette setting to its bezel, for a total of approximately 3.20 cts.

Preserved in wonderful condition, this extremely rare reference is the 7th example to ever come back to the market. The watch is offered with an Extract from the Archives confirming its date of sale on January 4, 1972 and its original presentation case, making this an attractive opportunity for demanding Patek Philippe treasure hunters.
