FIRST EDITION, 3 volumes, folio (390 x 253mm.), half-titles in vol.1, vol.1 main title printed in red and black with engraved vignette, engraved portrait, 66 engraved plates, mostly double-page, contemporary smooth calf, spines gilt, a few plates shaved, 3 lettering-pieces missing, joints worn


Antonius Sanderus (1586-1664) was for a long time censor of books at Brussels. He was responsible for an important series of historical and topographical works relating to Flanders and Brabant. The present work includes many fine perspective views of monasteries, convents, abbeys and palaces in and around Brussels and Antwerp.
