FIRST FILL BOURBON CASK OF OCTOMORE 2012

Cask Number 2012004350, distilled on 15 November 2012, 163 bulk litres of liquid, 63.5% ABV, 103.8 RLA, at the time of gauging this cask yields circa 232 bottles.

LYING AT BRUICHLADDICH DISTILLERY, SCOTLAND Offered In Bond only

While there are very few Octomore bottle releases on the market, there are even fewer casks. Independent bottlings of Octomore are few and far between, so this cask offers an incredibly special opportunity. This cask still lies at Bruichladdich distillery on Islay.

Appearance: Oaked Chardonnay

Imagine Mary Poppins climbing her staircase of smoke into the London sky, umbrella in hand. The peaty aromas rise from the glass bringing with them notes of bonfire, wood ash, crispy bacon, even some sausages, wet wood and straw. Some coastal notes of driftwood on wet sandy beaches, sea air and a packet of quavers and an apple from the shop at Port Charlotte. This is a rainy day on Islay.

In the mouth this whisky is warming, but with a bit of water it opens up to mimic its nose with beachfront salinity, bonfire smoke and sweet oak with linseed oil. A classic Octomore.
