The Werner & Mieth firm was founded in Berlin in 1792 by Christian Gottlieb Werner (1756-1831) and Gottfried Mieth (c.1765- c.1834) and specialised in creating objects and chandeliers from glass and gilt-bronze. The company was immediately successful. In 1794, just two years after opening their doors, Werner & Mieth were given a Royal Appointment. Their chandeliers appeared in all the Hohenzollerns’ great palaces — the Monbijou Palace and Crown Prince’s Palace in Berlin, the Japanese Palace in Dresden, Sans-Souci in Potsdam.
La manufacture de Christian Gottlieb Werner (1756-1831) and Gottfried Mieth (v.1765- v.1834) fut fondée à Berlin en 1792 et était spécialisée dans la création d'objets et mobilier en verre et bronze doré. Le succès fut immédiat et, dès 1794, la manufacture reçut des commandes de la Cour de Prusse. Les principaux palais des Hohenzollern — Monbijou et la résidence du prince héritier à Berlin, le palais japonais à Dresde, Sans-Souci à Potsdam — furent décorés de lustres Werner & Mieth.
