A SUITE OF NEOCLASSICAL STYLE GILT-BRONZE MOUNTED MAHOGANY AND SATINWOOD MARQUETRY FURNITURE 20TH CENTURY


comprising a commode, the figured alabaster top above three drawers, and a pair of étagères with conforming alabaster marble tops 

commode: 92cm. high, 130cm. wide, 58cm. deep; 3ft.½in., 4 ft. 3in., 1ft. 9in., étagères 76cm. high, 37.5cm. wide; 2ft. 6in., 1ft. 2¾in.

Condition Report

Generally with old marks and scratches consistent with age and use. The escutcheon to the top frieze drawer detached but can be easily put back. The gilt-bronze mounts in general good condition, with minor rubbing. The right side of the commode with a visible groove.

The marble top of the commode with one section to the back right corner detached and with minor cracking, some refilled. Sotheby's recommend the help of a professional in order to re-attach the piece of the marble top. The alabaster tops of each etagere with some cracks running through.

Evidence of an old woodworm activity, which no longer appears to be active. With a customs label underneath.
